This version premiered in April 2025 in Gdańsk, Poland, created for the dancers of the Ogólnokształcąca Szkoła Baletowa im. Janiny Jarzynówny-Sobczak w Gdańsku as part of the school’s 75th Jubilee celebrations. It is based on the original 1888 production by Josef Hassreiter in Vienna, with additional material from the 1903 staging by Nikolai and Sergey Legat in St. Petersburg, including the celebrated Pas de trois of the Fairy Doll and the Harlequins. Rooted in these historical sources, the choreography is entirely new, created for today’s dancers and audiences while honoring the spirit and elegance of the classical original.
